When making a short trip to the Toronto, Canada area, I knew that I would make every effort to visit the natural wonder that is Niagara Falls. In some ways, the falls totally lived up to my expectations, and in other ways, not so much.
1. The area surrounding the falls is more or less a big tourist trap. I’m not saying that touring a “haunted house” or visiting Ripley’s Believe It or Not wouldn’t be fun, but these places have popped up in every touristy city, and once you’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all. Save your money for a boat ride or other Niagara Falls experience.
I suppose most of my disappointment came from previously believing that Niagara Falls would be like a natural park area, like visiting the Grand Canyon, and not across the street from night clubs and casinos.
